Stay Safe!

Stay Safe!

Weather can be unpredictable. We’re still trying to recover from Hurricane Helene’s landfall, only to be hit by one of the strangest behaving tropical storms in decades. Wider, slower-moving, and constantly gaining strength, Hurricane Milton is coming in like a lion.

Thousands have been evacuated. Schools, stores, even whole communities across the Sunshine State have closed so people can protect themselves from the impact.

If you’re reading this, you are hopefully safe and secure somewhere to the North of landfall. If you’re still on the Gulf Coast, whether because of work or an inability to leave, please do whatever you can to stay protected and indoors.

The bands of rain have started. Storm surge is active. When everything suddenly calms, be aware - it is the eye of the storm – there is more coming. Do not put yourself in danger, thinking the worst has passed.

Thursday and Friday, once the bulk of the storm has passed, we must still be careful. Don’t return to the area until you must or are permitted to do so. Allow emergency crews to clear debris, rescue anyone trapped and deal with any issues that arise.

Monday is soon enough to start cleaning up and rebuilding.

If you need prayer, for yourself or someone else, during the storm or after, please reach out. We won’t be in the office, but we’ll always bring your concerns to God. We’ll see you again, after the storm.
